Raining

We are only supposed to get "showers" out of this, with no further flooding predicted.  Yellow scum on the puddles -- tree sex again.

And naturally this would be a bike day, in the normal course of the calendar.  Also, laundry day, deferred from yesterday because the water district was mucking around up the street, cutting off our pressure for an hour and leaving the prospect of sediment in the pipes after.

All digital TV channels have returned, as of yesterday evening.  News updates as they occur.

Item in the fishwrapper this morning, about how our electric utility views the local economy:

Choosing between food, gas, and the electric bill

And you thought I was exaggerating with my fictional Maine residents just scraping by...

Okay, Neighbor to the North has this car sitting on his lawn, with a sheet of paper taped inside the window listing particulars and price.  It's a Jaguar, sedan model, haven't checked to see the year and the details.

And my first thought was, he's killing the grass with the infamous British Auto Oil Leak.

Anyone know if they've fixed that syndrome?  I remember hearing that Lucas ("Prince of Darkness") Electrics had died the real death, so the car might even start on wet mornings...

(Yes, I had friends with MGs and Austin-Healeys back when.  We called them "pedestrians"...)

Again no roadkill.  I am bereft.

The rain stopped, the sun came out, and temperatures vaulted up past 60 F, so I declared bike and went out.  Nothing noteworthy to report, except that apparently-aberrant weather.  And I chopped two minutes off the previous ride's time.
