Betwixt and betweenst

In between Weather right now.  Rain overnight, rain forecast for this afternoon and overnight tonight.    It runs down the street and into the drain and goes away without human intervention.  We are not complaining about the lack of sleet or freezing, are not demanding a refund.

Temperature barely above freezing, so it was, as they say, a Near Thing.

And in the midst of that, the cardinal was singing at 5:15 AM.  Well, at least tomorrow that will become 6:15 EDST...

Large numbers of troops are returning from Iraq with permanent hearing loss?

I wonder if there's any connection to all those bird songs Wife can hear that I can't...
