The Thermometer of Doom

Okay, I didn't mind seeing temperatures above freezing on the scale this morning.  That's much nicer than yesterday's -6 F.  But when the little red line shoots up past 40 in an hour or so, one starts to get nervous.  At least this one does.  One can hear the ominous music over dripping meltwater from the roof...

We have prospects of snow, sleet, and freezing rain, due to a cold front currently lurking off somewhere around North Bay, Ontario.  Or is it Thunder Bay?
