Microsoft dread

Okay, somebody gave the nature center a brand new HP color laser printer.  It has been sitting around unloved-in-box for months now, because we are dealing with a set of hard-core Luddites here.  But the old high-speed laser out there needs a new toner cartridge, running well to the far side of $100 US, and Wife did the math. 

Guess who gets to install the new printer?  With Elder Son having relocated Tech Support to the far edge of the continent?

Cover me, I'm going in...

Somebody Else's Problem

Well, I couldn't find "documentation" or a software disk or cables.  Not even a box.  The printer, yes.  But I couldn't even tell if the machine might be a wireless printer, as they have a wireless network out there.  And even if it was, and they wanted it installed as a network printer rather than dedicated to one machine, I don't have the network password...

Okay, now neighbor to the south has chipped and shoveled away at the ice on the ramp to his shed.  Hauled out his motorcycle.  Gone for a ride.

Must be cabin-fever season.

(34 F right now, with melt-water puddling the roads and flowing into ice sheets.  Not prime biking conditions.)
