Remember that rain I mentioned?

Icy.  We did not lose power, but the roads, sidewalks, and driveways of our fair city look nasty.  Hibernation time.

YakTraks, YakTraks Uber Alles

Wife and I dared the ice and slush, with Bean Boots (well, hers are Sorels) and  ice grippers deployed.  We survived the experience.  Those YakTraks give decent traction even on glare ice, while the rubber-bottomed boots kept our little tosies dry.

Met the long yellow cat on the next block, applied a needed interlude of scritches.  That cat goes on forever -- when he stretches up with his paws on my leg, his head reaches to my waist.  Nosed into Wife's jacket pocket while she was standing up.  I suspect somebody keeps kitty treats in a similar location.
