The seasons have wended their way to the point that I'm getting up before the sun.  And the air is dry.  Light show of static electricity when I put on my clothes...

On the other end of the day, Wife and I are now taking our evening walk in gathering gloom, while the sun drops below the trees before 6:00 PM.

I think I hear the crunch of advancing glaciers from the north.

Squashed squirrels, both red and gray, and flat snakes.  Once again, the snakes were on the paved shoulder/breakdown lane, indicating malice.

Open letter to the little black car coming the other way, out near the bog:  if you have such a pressing need to pass in spite of conditions, you are supposed to also have a siren and light bar.  You sack of shit.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the ride?  Nice day, cool enough that I started off with my Polartec jacket and only removed it at the mid-ride water break.  More trees turning, with the first sugar maples starting.  Not sure how many more rides I'll get in this year, even if I don't end up dead in a ditch.  Winter is coming.
