God gave Noah the rainbow sign...
Jul. 14th, 2007 09:10 am...No more water, but fire next time.
After I watched ominous clouds pass us by to the north for much of yesterday afternoon, one of the "cells" laid crosshairs right on our fair village. Thunder, wind, rain, lightning close enough that we could barely start counting before the crack of thunder. We never lost power, but the UPS boxes clicked at me a few times.
And after, when Wife and I ventured out for a brief stroll in the damp evening, a full arc of double rainbow, about as vivid as I've ever seen, including four purple fringes inside the inner edge. Neighbors out oohing and ahhing, some with digital cameras.
I didn't bother to try for a photo, too transient, too broad an angle for the full spectacular. Besides, I was busy scarfing down handfuls of fresh-washed blueberries from our sideyard bushes, chilled by the rain.
