Clouds never did break or blow away, so we kept the dank all yesterday.  Supposed to clear today, with lower humidity.  Bike ride may be possible, if the roads dry off from the overnight rain.

Flock of grackles going grack-grack for the morning wake-up, could have done without that.  And the squirrels have found our blueberries, which have been ripening apace.  Hope that some remain for Younger Son to sample when he (and Girlfriend) visit next week.

Some few of you may be interested to hear that "Condon's Garage" closed recently -- featured in a classic children's book ONE MORNING IN MAINE, by Robert McCloskey, published in 1952.  The garage was still basically the place of the book, a coastal-village shed full of maybe-useful scrounged parts to this and that, competent mechanics who knew what your problem was when you walked through the door, with two gas pumps out front.

The general store across the street, source of ice cream cones, closed some years back.

One tattered weasel up near the golf course, several flat frogs (probably tried to cavort in the wrong place during last night's rain.)

Roads dried off enough for a bike ride, sun came out, air turned steamy.  Humidity is supposed to drop in the course of the day and overnight, but I wasn't prepared to wait that long.  Blue cornflowers blooming by the roadside, also more and yet more of that damned loosestrife.  Will no one rid me of this meddlesome weed?
