The more things change...
Mar. 5th, 2007 01:39 pmThe more they remain the same.
This post coming to you via iMac, delivered one day earlier than the tracker site originally proposed. No, this is _not_ the package that is currently en route from Pennsylvania to Maine by way of Illinois.
However, this is _also_ coming to you via dialup, as the DSL modem remains elsewhere. See above routing.
At least I did pay for the USB modem, so I have dialup as an option. I intend to use that as my office fax, the all-in-one machine having developed a snit about faxes, while still printing and copying okay.
And, apparently, I can access three wireless networks detected by the Apple airport system. I have not tried to connect via those, to find out if they are unsecured or will ask me for a password. See my golden virtue.
The iMac is shiny. I may toss the mighty mouse, and replace it with a trackball. Have not attempted to install Office or Quicken yet, or use the printer. Those items later.
