Tuesday no-roadkill report
Aug. 29th, 2006 02:54 pmWell, the heron corpse has vanished. The cemetery crew does keep neat grounds. One of Sunday's raccoons still lies spurned in the middle of the road, though.
Not-roadkill -- saw a muskrat in the cattails again. Not that easy, spotting a wet mud-colored rat in wet mud...
Gray morning, started with light drizzle but dried off enough that I got my ride in. This technically brings me to 1200 miles for the year, but still a little short of that number on the odometer so it kinda sorta doesn't count.
Cool, low 60s F, with a breeze. Incentive to pedal faster. And more leaves are turning. Ash trees going yellow, some of the maples beginning to show color outside of the swamps.
