Thursday no-roadkill report
Aug. 10th, 2006 10:10 amGot out early for the bike ride, forecast of rain later although sunny and coolish now. No fresh roadkill to list. I did see a couple of blood splots that could have been fatal for raccoon/porcupine sized critters. No corpse, so I can't count coup.
Actually near-ideal bike weather -- little wind, temperatures in the upper 60s F, mixed sun and clouds. We'll take a dozen gross.
Hope the Brits get Heathrow, etc, sorted by next week -- Younger Son will be transiting the place on his way to a psychology conference in Petrograd, and we'd kinda like all the planes on the relevant days to arrive intact.
Added words to the new Fat Wizard mystery, tentative title POWERS. Now to add lines to the latest pigeon loft renovation. Meeting with a structural engineer on site tomorrow. We found some . . . things . . . during demolition . . .
15.28* miles, 1:04:00
*This brings the bike odometer to _exactly_ 1000 miles for the season. Yeah, I cheated by throwing in a couple of extra laps around the neighborhood on Sunday's ride, to set this up.
