The old ways still have power...
Okay, my next door neighbor has been working on this dead car, 1995 Mitsubishi, hoping to get it running for his nephew to drive to work. Car's in good physical condition, but the engine just sits there. Our over-the-fence diagnosis -- probably dead computer.
So neighbor is testing this and poking at that, reading voltages, replacing fuel pumps, you name it. Finally he takes a 17mm box-end wrench and whacks the computer casing a couple of times, hears some relays click, reaches inside and turns the starter key, and the car starts.
If all else fails, get a bigger hammer.
