For those who like "speculative fiction" and also like "free" (although donations are welcome) -- a new electronic magazine dawns:

This is not an endorsement, as I don't know what the once and future quality of product may be, nor do I have any interest in the venture. Given some of the personalities involved, I can at least predict that the issues won't be dull.

One raccoon, up on the edge of the Chase Road. This, boys and girls, was a _large_ raccoon, not one of the yearlings I've been seeing. Ol' 'Coon should have known about roads by now.

Not _yet_ roadkill, but trying, one woodchuck up near the second cemetery. Note to Chuck: if you feel you _really_ need to end it all, don't choose a bicycle as your suicide vehicle. You'll just end up Ethan Fromed. (I _think_ that was the dreary title.)

Windy and humid today, courtesy of the low formerly known as Alberto, but I went out on the bike anyway. Vetch and clovers adding their floral display to the previously-mentioned hawkweed and lupines. Water still high in the bog, but receding in the streams.

Forecast is for temperatures up around 90 F over the weekend, after we've been topping out in the 50s and 60s. This is going to be rough. Time to deploy the air-conditioner?

15.32 miles, 1:06:40
(Mileage and time approximate -- forgot to reset bike computer before heading out.)
