Thursday roadkill report
Apr. 20th, 2006 02:41 pmOne yearling raccoon up by the golf course, another near the bog. Also a dead flicker spread across the road. I'm sure you are as relieved as I am to see the Maine roads returning to normalcy.
More wind than I would request, but less than yesterday and mostly sunny. Temperature around 60 F (16 C), tee shirt and shorts weather, so I got the hell out of the house. The recent rains, though not heavy, have started lawns greening and buds swelling on the trees. Forsythia blooming, and cilla (sp? little blue flowery things), and daffodils and such. Skunk cabbage finally showing out in the bog.
Got Fat Wizard out of the slum apartment and into the emergency room this morning. He thinks he's solved the mystery and can relax. Wrong again -- still another four chapters or so, plus decompression and Happily Ever After.
