Chilly overnight, well below freezing, and then warm and sunny during the day. We have hopes for a good maple syrup season. Probably the buds will start swelling and taint the sap, thus ending one of our important harvests. And the blueberry growers are worried about the lack of snowcover to protect the blossom buds from frost. And another paper mill is closing, and the fisheries council is talking about cutting various commercial seasons short. So much for the resource-based economy.

Wife has nearly finished off the Garden Show panic -- now she just has to count all the merchandise we dumped off at the nature center last night, run the charge card slips, make decisions on stock for the center store versus what to ship back to the boss store down south, etc, etc, etc. Gee, they never taught _that_ stuff as part of the naturalist curriculum back at the Big U.

Fat Wizard decided to accept that cup of coffee. Now he's learning things. And no, I'm _not_ having the villain gloat.
