Signs and portents

In addition to three crocuses along our south foundation wall (two purple open, one white nearly), we saw a butterfly on our afternoon walk. Orangish, maybe two inch wingspan, it would have to be a kind that overwinters as an adult. Since we did not chase it down and net it and kill it with a stake (okay, pin) through the thorax, precise identification is waived.

Fat Wizard nearly got hit by a taxi as he crutched along through a crosswalk. Funniest thing, the guy's engine stalled and he couldn't get it restarted. FW moved on, leaving the driver swearing in Urdu. Maybe Urdu -- but the swearing part was verified by sign language.
