High thin clouds sneaking in from the southwest, temperatures near 50 F (10 C). I suspect that the mavens who prognosticated rain for this afternoon and evening may be proved correct. Longer-term forecast says showers off and on until Wednesday, at which point we return to "seasonable" temperatures.

Having entered my words into SIGNATURES for the day, Fat Wizard consuming a massive amount of beef daube Creole, I think I shall reward myself with another bike ride. We could still see ski-able snow before winter is done with us.

Mallards, maybe 20-30 grazing brown grass along the (frozen) stream through the cemetery. Afraid I can't call them migrants and a harbinger of spring, as they winter over in open water along our river. No sign of geese yet, even though some Canucks have reported their arrival or passage. Contrary to widespread belief, a sizable chunk of Canadian population lies south of us.

Wind is now picking up, and the sun wanes by the minute. Glad I snuck my bike ride in early.
