Dirty little birdy feet
Jan. 2nd, 2006 11:09 amLight snow overnight, maybe a half inch of fluffy stuff, but it's perfect for tracking. And the juncos have been boinking around after the seed that the sloppy finches drop from the sunflower feeder. Also squirrel prints and little cat feet -- without the fog.
Wife and I saw some tracks the other day that we still haven't figured out, three-toed paws with claw-marks. Found them mixed in with a crow's prints, including wing-tip marks from takeoff, but these weren't crow marks. They showed a distinct pad and didn't have the rear-facing talon of the crow. One of the eternal mysteries of life, I guess.
