I don't know what's wrong with kids these days. No listening to their elders. No respect for tradition.

You have, if you have read these pages for even a short length of time, heard that we have a Major Construction Project tearing up our street. Major Construction Projects require the appropriate equipment and facilities. "Facilities," in this case, represented by a Porta-Potty unit sitting on the sidewalk a few houses up the street from our house. Both Wife and I, independently, decided that the contractor would be wise to remove said unit before Hallowe'en festivities commenced. The contractor did not do so.

The unit still stands unmolested this morning.

Numerous pumpkins failed to make it across the road alive. Are they migrating after overgrazing their range, or do they act like porcupines and think their mojo will protect them against cars?

Also a dead raccoon out in the bog.

The temperature edged above 60 F again today, sunny, so I snatched another ride from the jaws of winter. Water level is still right up to the road out in the bog, but not over it, so that's cool. Fewer and fewer autumn leaves every day. The current forecast indicates I may have another possible ride day on Friday, but we'll see. We have learned to view forecasts with a jaundiced eye.
