Tubes of caulk expended. This is the part they don't tell you about on THIS OLD HOUSE and other renovation TV series -- the never-ending story of man against the elements (and the vermin). I have scraped and caulked the front porch. I have scraped and caulked the sun porch. I could probably use another two tubes of caulk on the conglomerate assembly. Now, once we get back from our scheduled diversion to an Undisclosed Location, we can prime and paint. Might even beat the first snows.

By the way, I do not approve of the use of structural caulk in my professional construction projects. However, that's all that is holding some of the trim in place out there...

This afternoon, mow the lawn. One of these years, I'll win the lottery and hire this crap done. ("But you don't _play_ the lottery.")("Shaddup and get back to work.")

Frost warning for tonight, with possible hard freeze up in the bits of Arctic we stole from Canada.
