The contractor's crew is running a road grader up and down the packed gravel out there, possibly in preparation for a temporary course of pavement. This has Wife in a minor tizzy, as she needs to leave for work in about an hour and wonders what level of Road will be available when she needs it. Also, the garbage pickup came through before 7:00 AM, trying to avoid the aforementioned mess, and one heard the delightful echoes of profanity up and down our street as pajama'd residents rushed their garbage bags and bins out to the curb....

Of course, anybody still in pajamas at 6:45 AM in Maine is automatically labeled a sluggard. "The sun's been up for an hour, what's _your_ problem?"
