Onwards through the swamp!
Jun. 26th, 2005 10:55 amIn spite of insinuations of insanity uttered by Wife, I did go for my Sunday ride. I did _not_ push for speed or distance. Wasn't really bad, unless you count the added air resistance from all the humidity and bugs....
Major quantities of buttercups, hawkweed, clover, lupines, and vetch blooming -- whole hillsides yellow and purple. Major quantities of yellow dust on the ground -- pine and spruce pollen.
Roadkill du jour seems to be porcupines. The quill pigs keep thinking that cars won't attack them.
(Roadkill reports will rarely mention various types of squirrels -- consider their corpses ubiquitous.)
