New England Weather
May. 28th, 2005 01:12 pmWeird stuff. On the weather radar, band of rain headed east to west about 20 miles to the north, another band headed west to east about 20 miles to the south. We've been in the "dry" corridor between the two for several hours now. Long enough for me to sneak in a bike ride, anyhow, and maybe I'll even be able to crank up the lawn mower this afternoon (that shows you my priorities.) Have to _fix_ the mower first, a pivot arm for the left rear wheel is cracked nearly through. Have parts, have not had incentive.
No notable bicycle fauna to report -- couple of roadkill woodchucks.
Chapter XXII up next, The Shrew discovers what happened to the state fish & game trailer while she was out. Took a break to let the Psilons conquer the universe.
15.1 miles, 1:04:30
Later:
Fixed mower. Mowed lawn, defying dampness and murdering beaucoup dandelion heads. Weather pattern continues.
And my damned army-surplus knee has decided to file a grievance with the shop steward. Don't know if _that_ is weather-related or not, but I could do quite well without it....
