Bicycling upriver, an adult bald eagle circled in and landed in a tree overhanging the road, maybe fifteen feet over my head. Don't know if it was the same one I saw maybe five miles upstream yesterday, but I repeat -- those suckers are BIG. Maybe I'll follow Wife's advice and mount a strip of anti-bird spikes on my helmet.

In other news, the copyedit of DRAGON'S EYE arrived unheralded on my front porch this morning. The PTBs at Ace want it back next week. At least I'm in town this time. I guess this means that Beowulf turns into Schroedinger's Cat for a while, neither dead nor alive until I peek into that box. Which may be awkward for him, because he's Bear Clan, of course.

And here I was almost ready to type -The End- on that.

It'll be interesting to discover what DRAGON'S EYE is all about. I've kinda sorta forgotten. As I think I've mentioned before, I wrote it between SUMMER COUNTRY and WINTER OAK, and before SUMMER COUNTRY actually sold. Like, back in the dark ages.
