Weather prophets?
Nov. 12th, 2004 10:51 amOnce again, there seems to be a disparity between the forecasts and the actual creature. The sun shines upon us, in spite of the threats* offered earlier in the week.
*(Promises? Hey, I already mentioned that I _want_ snow.)
In other griping, I would like to mention that I think people don't understand what is involved in modern pharmaceutical miracles. (Full disclosure: we own some Pfizer stock in the don't-trust-Social-Security account.) But why are folks surprised that complex drugs have complex effects in the human body, and that some of those effects may not be what you desired? And that some of those undesired side-effects may take years to show up, even under careful examination of mass-market statistics?
