The last ride of summer?
Oct. 20th, 2004 03:02 pmSimilar to the last rose -- just a couple of letters different.
Cool, windy, but sunny, so I headed out with the fleece jacket and didn't freeze any delicate parts off. A lot of the leaves are down now, showing red
winter-berry in the swamps and yellow bracken. Tamaracks are starting to get yellow, as well.
I didn't see the cemetery heron this afternoon, although he was there yesterday when the lady of the house and I went out to the bog for a walk. And the city idiots have re-striped a major intersection, changing the turning/straight lane layout _again_. I swear they change it back and forth each time they repaint the pavement.
15.3 miles, 1:07:30, 1502 miles for the year. Don't know if I'll get out much more, and I'd bet the dear lady doesn't want me to, because if I get a few more rides in I'll start fretting about whether I can reach 1600....
ADDENDUM: Library Journal review of THE WINTER OAK: "Fans of urban fantasy in the style of Charles de Lint and Tanya Huff should enjoy this well-written sequel to The Summer Country."
Humpf. Charles and Tanya write like _me_, not the other way around. Just wanted to set the record straight.
