Warm, sunny, very little wind. Dragonflies all over the ride route -- red and purple and green and blue, big and small, fast and lumbering slow like a pheasant taking off. No, I didn't try to stop and catch and identify any species. And because they are so iridescent, the red and purple ones could actually be the same kind, just different light angle. Same with the blue and green. They flash like jewels in the sun. And they eat mosquitoes, making them Really Good Guys.

Managed to get down Copland Hill without encountering any deer this time. But the wind was wrong, so I only topped out at a little under 39 MPH, where I usually go 40 or 41. Boo hoo. 40 MPH +/- on a bicycle on Maine roads gets a little . . . interesting.

No cute things at the nature center today. Folks were holding a memorial service out there, with people right, left, and center. Must have been a popular corpse.
