We're getting stains on the sidewalks and driveways, underneath trees. Every broken twig and squirrel-gnawed bud leaks. Other signs of spring -- six Canada geese out in the fields by the state hospital.

I expect there's visitations in the Billings Bridge/RA Centre/CRA Data Centre area underway as I type this reply. That part of Ottawa seems to attract Canada geese on the regular every year.

When I was working, every FALL the ornamental trees on campus shed their trees and berries that smelled horrible and stained the sidewalk. Permanently.

Our city has planted a lot of ornamental plums and crab-apples and such, for their blooms. We thus have a lot of squish on the sidewalks every fall.
