Backhoe chewing away at that 1870s house on my walk route. Figured out why they are working from the back -- house is right up to the sidewalk and street like ours, and they want to be able to pull the front back into the wreck.
This whole neighborhood dates back that far. We think our place was built in the 1850s. I found a Civil War penny token while working the garden, a couple of decades back.
