And a gray, gloomy day, with threats of scattered showers or flurries. With a sunset around 4:20.

Seasonal depression time.

I tried to track down sunlight lightbulbs as the darkness closed in. One thing I found in Alaska this summer -- I do MUCH better when the sun never sets. Unfortunately the trip to Ace Hardware didn't turn up hoped for light bulbs. I don't really want to order online as UPS is not to be trusted with the strudy stuff, so something as fragile as lightbulbs would probably be toast long before it hit (literally) my house.

Oh. Shit. Look, wasn't Maine supposed to be part of the U.S. not the Arctic Circle? It's low 80s here. Can open the windows but it gets cold at night, in the high 60s. I think the weather is confusing the animals. There are dead squirrels in the street constantly and run-over turtles.
Or maybe they're committing suicide over the impending cold winter?
