We have troublesome critters wandering through the yard. Your average raccoon can reduce a soda can to aluminum foil in a minute or so. (One reason I don't like people leaving the garbage out overnight.) I'm not so worried about applesauce, but stinky tuna catfood would draw them from miles away. And there's the occasional bear coming to town for a night out...
