Cooler weather, complete with drawbacks

Well, cooler and drier did manage to rumble in on last night's thunderstorms. This is a good news/bad news joke, because now I don't have the heat as an excuse to avoid scraping paint on the front porch and sunporch of the house. I intend to place an arbitrary limit of an hour on such foolishness, but I can't ignore it completely. And then there's the lawn....

Just about to bring Dierdre and Fiona together in the Enchanted Forest. This represents a calculated critical mass, guaranteed to cause loud noises and destruction in the neighborhood. You do _not_ want to become a Protagonist in a fantasy series, boys and girls. It's ugly and painful work, with everyone's hand lifted against you and the very stars conspiring to your downfall.

I finished Summer Country and now I'm wondering who Dierdre is in connection to Fiona and Brian. Their daughter? Maureen and Brian's daughter? Asked the local library here in Hudson, NH to get the other books. Once unixronin's first unemployment check gets here I'm ordering them from Amazon and scheming to meet you face to face to get them signed. :-)

Actually, she gets mentioned in SUMMER COUNTRY, just barely, and then features more seriously in WINTER OAK. But you've just pointed out that I changes the spelling of her name, now and maybe possibly between the two books. Deirdre versus Dierdre? I'll have to check....

Using that name makes me want to reread the Amber books. :-) I am sort of tempted to find Amber fanfic to see how others think the stories of Benedict and Deirdre should have played out because Zelzany sort of glosses over them or gives just the barest hint of what happened.
