I fear you're going to tell me it's a cold record. I have stalled prepping the homestead, as it got very cold weeks early. May hit 48 tomorrow, though, so perhaps I can finish up then.
At least an early snow-that-sticks is good for the winter sports, which are a big part of the local economy.
Now watch us have an ugly thaw right in the middle of the Christmas/New Year's season. That happened one year, along with an early spring, and times were hard all over. At least one snowmobile dealer went broke and killed himself, and our local state rep argued (in vain, of course) for state aid on the grounds that we'd had the equivalent of a major crop failure.
