Oscillations continue

Temperatures soaring like turkey vultures on the thermals. Now in the 80s F, notable sweating on the morning bike ride. Also notable swearing after the bike ride, as I required two minutes more for the same route as before my enforced idleness. Give this aging body a coffee break and you have to retrain it.

(Also ought to pump up the tires. If the odometer reads 15.32 on a route that gave 15.28 before, one _might_ suspect a softening of the relevant tire and consequent change in working diameter under load....)

Speaking of retraining, I need to take the authorial superego and id out and shake them, switching from one mythos to another as I dive into PENDRAGON AUTUMN. GHOST POINT and its predecessors/successors use a different source of magic and myth than the world of SUMMER COUNTRY, even though both series touch base in the same (imaginary) Naskeag Falls, Maine. Have to watch my words for the first few chapters -- probably less trouble to work with stories that had greater differences.

Happy solstice, whether you want it or not!

Here in Maryland we had a low of 44 F overnight near where I live. It's nuts.

Happy Solstice to you too! Now everything will be darker. But we're going to keep getting further from the Sun until ~ July 4th. That's when we reach aphelion.
