91 F yesterday (tied local record for the date), 61 F today. Forecast is rain, drizzle, fog for the next two or three days, highs in the 50s or 60s. No wonder we can't get used to this stuff. Next time we top 75 F, I _will_ haul out that air conditioner and set it up.

Consolidated GHOST POINT chapter files into a single manuscript file this morning, mechanical slog of importing and inserting page breaks and importing some more. The totality comes to about 560 manuscript pages (with the current font and printer definition*, of course) and 113,000 words. I haven't printed it off, because we need to go through and read the revisions "as a story" first, for pacing and gaps and plot snags, and adding or subtracting one line here and there would toss a major chunk of paper in the trash....

Anyway, one step closer to sending the pesky thing off to The Nice Agent Lady.

*Don't ask _me_ why 12 pt Courier New pages differently on two different models of HP Laserjets and an HP Deskjet.

I hate it when fonts do that! One of the fonts Russ really likes to use in the button files renders differently on my computer than on his, which means being very careful about storing and printing it from the same place even though we use a central file server. Drives me batshit, and I've been slowly replacing that font whenever I run into it. Which is a shame, because it's a nice, readable font that could be very useful (and was, in the pre-network days when all the button stuff was being done from Russ' computer).
