Baby steps

jhetleyWell, fiddled around with Photoshop and snipped out a photo that meets the Admin's criteria for an icon. So now the world can see what I looked like a few years back -- more gray in the beard now, but the picture's fuzzy anyway.
Today's big thrill is likely to be the furnace man, cleaning out our ancient coal boiler (converted to oil, the blessings of Allah be upon Saudi Arabia and their ilk) and telling us whether or not it will make it through another winter. And pointing out the asbestos on both the boiler jacket and the pipe insulation. Older homes (circa 1850) are _so_ much fun.
The threatened rain has turned out to be scattered sprinkles so far, just enough to annoy without really watering the pansies. That provides a capsule description of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Date: 2004-06-02 07:12 am (UTC)And yes, my own version of Life, the Universe, and Everything has a decided home-improvement flavor these days, too. Even with house guests last weekend, much of my focus has been on the rebuilding of my back deck, getting the vegetable garden in and trying to decide whether it's time to order a service call on my own furnace.
