Meanwhile, back at the recession

The state organization that runs Wife's nature center has announced cutbacks at their head office.  We'll find out what that means locally in a couple of weeks.

It may only be a part-time job, but that steady paycheck (well, electronic deposit) sure helps smooth out the bumps of my erratic earnings . . .

(Edit:  that should be "state-wide organization" -- just realized that the original makes it look like she works for the state.  No.  A non-profit, in more ways than one.)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your wife. I never expected to be made redundant -- who thought a college would just stop doing IT and business courses? -- but thankfully I do have work again. The good thing is that I no longer have such a long way to travel to work. The downside is that it's now short-term contracts for the forseeable future.

Part of the fun is that we're both over 60. This makes the employment market somewhat gloomy.

Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers, and hoping you are preserved untouched.
