Nippy

Overnight low about -15 F, warmed up all the way to -3 for my newspaper walk -- we got a blanket of clouds in overnight.  Very little wind.  Supposed to binge on heat today, up into the 20s F, with prospect of 40s over the weekend and early next week.  Don't know what we'll do with all those spare degrees.

Not thrilled with the results  on either side of the Iowa politicking -- no desire for a theocracy running the country, close as we are to one already, and I'm afraid Obama looks shallow to me.  Don't know what he'd actually, you know, do if he gets elected.

But then, I don't like anybody very much.

Bonus points for the song reference, again.  The original lyrics are depressingly topical, for something fifty years old...

Really?!? I thought Tom only sang original stuff. Learn something every day.

Well, I dug into the cultch-heap of music, and the song isn't in either my Kingston Trio book or my Tom Leherer book. But neither claims to be "The Complete Works Of FITB"

You're certainly right about it being Sheldon Harnick's song. I'd just somehow associated it with Leherer, though a quick check of Google shows me that the Kingston Trio was much more strongly associated with it.
