Side effects

Just like with pharmaceuticals, life in The Great North Woods has side effects. One being, at this time of year washing the dishes becomes an attractive way to warm up your hands.

Temperatures supposed to go into the teens tonight, degrees F. Weather forecasters are tiptoeing around that four-letter "S" word. Hey, I _want_ snow. Now that it's too cold for bicycles, I'm waxing up the skis.

If only you'd mentioned this yesterday - I would have been happy to send you some. We had about 5cm over the course of the day. Most of it's gone today, though.

BTW, I just finished rereading The Summer Country - it's just as entertaining and captivating as it was first time around. Think you can talk your publishers into getting The Winter Oak into bookstores up here?
