Wednesday roadkill report

One flat turtle out on the road through the bog -- couldn't identify species.

Windy and gray this morning, temperature in the 50s F, but no threat of rain so I got my bike ride in.  More lupines, plus the rest of the roadside wildflowers and invasive aliens (purple loosestrife has not yet blossomed, so I can ignore it for now.)  Black locusts in heavy flower, almost rank with perfume.

Got caught behind a caravan of city Public Works trucks moving a shed on a flatbed, so my timing was shot to hell.  Such is life.  The exercise still counts.

And spotted an incongruous mallard drake on the grass under a bird feeder, out near the cemetery.  Ducks should stay close to water.
