Gray day

Raining, in Maine, in January. Hey, if I wanted this kind of weather, I could have moved to Seattle.

Added words to SIGNATURES this morning, my wizard driving in circles when he headed out of town, checking to see if the Evil Overlord was on his tail. Now off into a subplot with my protag trying to figure out what kind of scam the Rich Brat wants to run, with unwitting(?) help from said wizard.

Fresh pea soup simmering for lunch. Life is, in spite of the weather, good.

Rain? That IS weird. By tonight it'll be ice, right?

Maybe ice, maybe not. The weather PTBs are forecasting more rain tonight, with temperatures above freezing in our area.

We usually count on a January Thaw, defined as at least two days of above-freezing, including the overnight. Some years, that ends with an inch or so of sleet and freezing rain....

Oi! As a westcoaster who lives about an hour and a half north of Seattle, I can tell you that's libel! [grin] Okay, it's raining RIGHT NOW, but we are in winter - and by April we really have more good days than sludge. And summers out here so far have been pretty spectacular.

Paws off Seattle! it has a wholly undeserved reputation...

But I've never been there, so I can write whatever authoritative nonsense I wish on the subject. That's one of the "artistic license" clauses, didn't you know?
