Wednesday roadkill report

Porcupine corpse in the road through the bog, possibly last-night fresh. In the travel lane, so Porky still has a chance for revenge on uncaring tires. Also, numerous woolly-bear caterpillars in the road, some dead and some still on their valiant trek to a good place to spend the winter.
Leaves down off a lot of trees, colors muted. "Peak foliage" this year may be sub-par due to drought and wind. Asters still blooming, cattails and milkweed going to fluff.
Got out on the bike, temperature about 60 F and wind not terrible. Did not die. Ride takes me over 1100 miles for the year, but may be the last of the season. Depends on the weather.
