Air temperature 35 F, wind near calm, weather radar and airport station reporting a snow shower but no sign of it outside my window. We continue to teeter on the edge of actual spring, without falling into it.
Couple of times now, we've had a pair of house finches scouting out the ledges above shutters on the front of the house. We'll see if they can put up with nosy neighbors. Last year's catbirds finally did.
Took a malfunctioning UPS apart, unscrewing this and unplugging that. Found the traditional black sooty area of the circuit board. Looked like a power transistor. It let the magic smoke out. In theory, I could repair it. But tracking down replacement parts for a piece of electronics that is more than ten years old? Anyway, the battery should still be good and may fit one of our other units.
