Icy windy dawn

Air temperature 28 F, wind northwest gusting to 30 mph, partly cloudy. ""Feels Like" windchill 16 F. Yesterday's mix of rain and snow left the roads and sidewalks treacherous. Trash bin rolled out, which meets my civic obligations for the day.

The frozen tundra

Got my walk in, icy patches but not continuous so putting ice-grippers on the shoes wasn't warranted. Wind gusting near 30 mph for a windchill 12 F. Winter gear tested, no cat friends met. They have more sense.

Gaza is a horror. Ukraine is a horror. Sudan is a horror. Myanmar is a horror. Syria has been a horror for over a decade, with around half a million dead. There are others. Some of these get attention. Others do not.
