Winter's reminder

Air temperature 49 F, wind south gusting to 44 mph, raining. Supposed to keep this up all day, then turn to snow around midnight and temperatures nosedive into black ice territory tomorrow morning. Whee.

The time is out of joint

I noticed green leaves sprouting near the foundation under our kitchen windows. Hyacinths. They may live to regret this impetuous move.
