Warmer than normal

Air temperature 36 F, wind northwest about 4 mph, overcast with rain in the area. Supposed to have rain, mix, and snow tonight, after an interlude that may include a glimpse of sun.

Timing is everything

There's a crew stripping shingles from a house up the side-street from us, trying to fit work in between bouts of rain. Don't know if they plan to reshingle today, or just tarp it . . .

I suspect that the rain and wind the other day revealed deficiencies that could not wait for spring.

Gravity is an option

Watched a brown creeper working its way up the trunk of our crabapple tree and then out along the underside of one of the branches. It reminds me that small birds are weightless.
