December again

Air temperature 34 F, southwest wind about 4 mph, partly cloudy. We did not lose power. Small amount of water in the basement.

Neighborhood survey

Number of branches down from the storm, 1" to 2" diameter, most of them look like they were dead. Also, a cedar about 16" diameter down across a driveway, guy cutting it up as I walked by, and a birch maybe 12" diameter broken off halfway up, trunk missed the car parked there but branches hit it -- doesn't look like more than paint damage. Also, lot of ponding still in areas that don't drain well.

And, in a totally predictable manner, I just got a Medicare scam call while waiting for a real call . . .

Well, Thing has arrived and been unboxed and assembled* and it even runs. Check that bit of stress off the list.

*Nowhere do they tell you in advance that you need metric tools. Which I happen to have, whew.
