Anniversary

Air temperature 54 F, near calm, clear sky. Supposed to get up into the 70s today, near or at 90 F late in the week. I did not request this progression. I did request our 50th wedding anniversary, which arrived this morning.

Medical ethics

Thing on PBS News Hour last night, "challenge trials" of potential COVID-19 vaccines. It will be a double blind trial, with half the volunteers getting vaccine and half getting placebo. And then getting exposed to a life-threatening disease for which there is no cure yet . . .

I object to people labeling their opponents as "subhuman" or otherwise not Real People. Unless their opponents are woodchucks or rabbits in the garden.

Tuesday floral report

Either cinquefoil or wood sorrel blooming, nightshade, lotsa lotsa daisies and buttercups and hawkweed. Some of the lupines are totally gone to seed, others just getting started on blooms.

No roadkill. Only interesting metal bird, one C-17 doing touch-and-go landings. For which our airport/base provides excellent facilities, with a runway measured in miles.

Got out on the bike, across town and over to said aerodrome, hot out there, did not die.
