Plumber has been and gone and our bathroom sink drains again. Old houses . . .
Something on the other side of the road as I headed past the cemetery pond on my way out, so I slowed down and checked it on my way back. Then walked the bike down into the ditch and flipped a pair of wings right side up, ID as mallard duck hen. Bunch of down scattered in the grass. That feeding habit indicates a large-ish raptor, eagle or great horned owl or red-tail hawk.
Got out on the bike, usual route which will be blocked next week for an indeterminate spell. Not warm, but not particularly windy. Did not die
