Air temperature 64 F, wind south at 30 mph gusting over 50, rain blowing through. Had to clear small branches from our driveway before I could get the car out, dodging trash on the roads. We have not lost power so far, but it has blinked a few times. Sirens serenade.
A few branches down here and there, and a couple of trees broken off. One of those is the white pine that had held the merlin nest this summer, but our information is that they don't reuse their nests. They will look for another crow's nest next year.
One thing for walks around older neighborhoods-- trying to spot which house *those* shingles came from . . .
